There are four modules covering a range of topics. The course explains to learners what PR is and the different types of PR activity (for example, consumer, business to business). How to plan a PR campaign is discussed and some of the most common tactics are explained, such as media relations, writing a press release and using social media for PR. As well as working with external media, internal communication is discussed. The course ends with a module on the skills needed for PR and a discussion about what it is like to work in this exciting industry.
The course is delivered through a mix of video, directed reading, research tasks and quizzes.
