Offered by Canvas Network,
Creating and Teaching a Pathways Math Course (Canvas.net)

During this four week course, instructors will learn how to create and teach an exciting new type of developmental math course known as a pathways course. These courses (e.g., Math Literacy for College Students, Quantway™, and Statway™) are becoming a popular way to redesign college math programs.

During this four week course, instructors will learn how to create and teach an exciting new type of developmental math course known as a pathways course. These courses (e.g., Math Literacy for College Students, Quantway™, and Statway™) are becoming a popular way to redesign college math programs.
However, their innovative nature provides a set of challenges both in and out of the classroom. To help instructors overcome those challenges, this course will address the following topics concerning pathways courses:

• History and development
• Philosophy
• Real problem solving
• Role of skills and algebra
• Group work
• Assessments
• Implementation problems and strategies

Participants will be a part of an active and engaging class designed to address individual concerns and increase instructor confidence.

Fibonacci Numbers and the Golden Ratio (Coursera)

Learn the mathematics behind the Fibonacci numbers, the golden ratio, and how they are related. These topics are not usually taught in a typical math curriculum, yet contain many fascinating results that are still accessible to an advanced high school student. The course culminates in an explanation of why the Fibonacci numbers appear unexpectedly in nature, such as the number of spirals in the head of a sunflower.

College Foundations: Reading, Writing, and Math (Canvas.net)

Students may choose to work at their own pace across all three subject areas, or to select individual content areas. Pretests will determine any learning deficits, which can then be mastered through self-paced learning modules. Not forgetting the importance of the human touch, this course is overseen by a trio of reading, writing, and mathematics professors who will be available to assist and encourage students along their journey to college readiness.

Differential Equations for Engineers (Coursera)

This course is about differential equations and covers material that all engineers should know. Both basic theory and applications are taught. In the first five weeks we will learn about ordinary differential equations, and in the final week, partial differential equations. The course is composed of 56 short lecture videos, with a few simple problems to solve following each lecture. And after each substantial topic, there is a short practice quiz. Solutions to the problems and practice quizzes can be found in instructor-provided lecture notes. There are a total of six weeks in the course, and at the end of each week there is an assessed quiz.

Introduction à la théorie de Galois (Coursera) Coursera
