Biblioteca digitale in teoria e in pratica (EMMA)

Le biblioteche digitali sono spazi per l'apprendimento che svolgono un ruolo sociale e intellettuale nel far incontrare persone e idee. I nuovi metodi di insegnamento e di apprendimento, che sono più "centrati sullo studente", spingono ad una nuova attenzione sulle biblioteche digitali. Questo MOOC è progettato per spiegare perchè le biblioteche digitali sono importanti per l'apprendimento. Qual è il ruolo della biblioteca digitale quando gli utenti possono ottenere risorse digitali da qualsiasi sito Internet? E cosa comporta questo cambiamento di ruolo per la creazione e la progettazione dello spazio virtuale della biblioteca digitale?

Ci sono molte tipologie di biblioteche digitali, ma c'è un accordo generale che queste possono giocare tre ruoli per la didattica:

  • come risorse per insegnare (cioè per lo sviluppo del curriculum);
  • come un contesto per apprendere (cioè per arricchire l'esperienza dello studente);
  • come uno spazio di apprendimento autorevole (cioè per facilitare l'esperienza dello studente).

Il corso è stato progettato per essere completo, ma di base. Con completo si intende che il corso descrive i fondamenti teorici della biblioteca digitale, ma a livello essenziale. Il corso prevede anche una opportunità pratica per i partecipanti di creare la propria biblioteca digitale.
Il corso è principalmente rivolto a:

  • insegnanti a tutti i livelli (K-12), compreso gli insegnanti delle scuole elementari, medie, e scuole superiori;
  • facilitatori della formazione continua o che danno servizio di supporto a istruttori e docenti per la formazione continua;
  • educatori interessati alle tecnologie didattiche e/o alla formazione on-line;
  • professionisti dei beni culturali che desiderano essere coinvolti in attività didattiche partecipative;
  • chiunque abbia interesse per le biblioteche digitali.
