Francesca Iezzi

Francesca Iezzi is the Mathematics Engagement Officer at The University of Edinburgh.
Francesca completed her PhD in Mathematics at the University of Warwick in 2016. Her research was in Geometric Group Theory (an area of Mathematics lying on the interface between Algebra and Geometry). After that, she held an early career fellowship at Warwick Institute of Advanced Study (IAS) and Warwick Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL). During that time she became interested in issues concerning science communication, as well as teaching and learning in Higher Education.
Francesca joined the University of Edinburgh in March 2017. Her current job involves designing and coordinating outreach and public engagement activities for the School of Mathematics, as well as students’ skill development, and supporting online teaching.
