Tell your Story : An Introductory Guide to Personal Storytelling (Skillshare)

This is a beginner level class that requires no prior experience in storytelling. However, it may also interest those with storytelling experience considering personal stories is a sensitive topic for many. This would be ideal for anyone who believes in the power of storytelling and is keen to make their stories work for them--including entrepreneurs, corporate executives, artists, teachers, counsellors, parents, and students.

In this class , among other things, you will learn:

- What you stand to gain by sharing your story

- How to prepare for an engaging experience

- How to draft, structure, and deliver your story

As you work on sharing your story in the Class Project, you will learn how to make your storytelling a novel experience every time you share a story--even if it’s the same story!). Also, pointers to become better at storytelling.

Your storytelling skills can help you engage with people in your classroom, at the workplace, during social conversations, or even on stage!

In short, your stories allow you to be seen and to be heard. Make your story count.

Share a personal story.

By now, you might have a broad sense of the topics you could focus on and where to look for your stories. Choose one that feels very close to you and that you’d enjoy sharing. Do refer to the attached file (PROJECT1_ResourceWorksheet) to help you get started, or to check if you're on the right track.

Please remember, you have to ‘tell’ your story, not write it. So, an audio or video recording is what you are expected to submit; a video submission would be ideal as it would allow you to be both, seen and heard.
