Recherche bibliographique en santé (REAMOOC)

Recherche bibliographique en santé (REAMOOC)

The MOOC, entitled “Health Bibliographic Research”, is designed for students, teachers and healthcare professionals. Throughout this MOOC, we will see the different aspects of documentary research in health, bibliographic writing and getting started with ZOTERO, a bibliographic management tool.

The research and management of documentary information are preliminary steps in the development of any scientific work. Because of the diversity of documentary sources, it is useful to be able to list them, assess their quality and judge their relevance.

The MOOC "Bibliographic research in health" is part of this dynamic and will allow learners to acquire the tools necessary to properly conduct documentary research, to know the appropriate type of document, to reference the sources and to share them. The skills you will need to acquire at the end of this MOOC are diverse:

  • Identify document types
  • Use documentary research tools
  • Explain internet research procedures
  • Establish a search equation
  • Write a bibliographic reference in health
  • Use the features of the ZOTERO bibliographic management software

Throughout history, the vast majority of people around the globe have believed they have, however defined, a “soul.” While the question of whether the soul exists cannot be answered by science, what we can study are the causes and consequences of various beliefs about the soul and its prospects of surviving the death of the body. Why are soul and afterlife beliefs so common in human history? Are there adaptive advantages to assuming souls exist?

Clinical trials are experiments designed to evaluate new interventions to prevent or treat disease in humans. The interventions evaluated can be drugs, devices (e.g., hearing aid), surgeries, behavioral interventions (e.g., smoking cessation program), community health programs (e.g. cancer screening programs) or health delivery systems (e.g., special care units for hospital admissions). We consider clinical trials experiments because the investigators rather the patients or their doctors select the treatment the patients receive.
