Vitomir Kovanović

Vitomir Kovanović is a research fellow at the University of South Australia. He recently completed his Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh in the School of Informatics. He has also worked as a research assistant for the Learning Innovation and Networked Knowledge (LINK) Research Lab at the University of Texas at Arlington. Vitomir’s research in Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining focuses on the development of novel learning analytics methods based on the trace data collected by learning management systems and their use to improve inquiry-based online education. He authored and co-authored more than forty peer-reviewed publications in the field of learning analytics, educational technology, and online education. Vitomir had a pleasure serving as a local chair for LAK’16 conference, and program chair for 2016 Learning with MOOCs (LWMOOCs) conference and currently serves on the executive committee of the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR). He is also the recipient of two best paper awards (LAK15 and HERDSA15 conferences) and several scholarships by the University of Edinburgh, Simon Fraser University, and Serbian Ministry of Education.
