Peter J Mitchell

Peter J Mitchell is a chartered linguist and, aged 34, became the youngest fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (UK). Dr Mitchell completed his undergraduate education at the University of Durham, England’s third oldest university after Oxford and Cambridge, before obtaining a master’s degree in applied linguistics and language teaching with distinction from Tambov State University in Russia. He also holds a doctorate in education from the University of Derby, plus graduate diplomas from the Faculty of Psychology and Faculty of Foreign Languages at Tomsk State University. Having trained as a translator-interpreter and English language teaching specialist, Peter J Mitchell has many years’ experience teaching and researching at Tomsk State University, one of Eurasia’s top higher education institutions, including 9 years as deputy dean for international affairs. In 2019 he founded TSU's Department of Translation and Language Communication.
