En el código electrónico se almacena una gran cantidad de información incluso mayor a la que se almacena en un código de barras. En este curso en línea aprenderás cómo funciona el Código Electrónico de Producto. Para hacer un seguimiento eficiente de las mercancías y productos en los procesos de transporte, existe el EPC (en español Código Electrónico de Producto y en inglés Electronic Product Code) , el cual permite hacer un rastreo de las mercancías en tiempo real.

Este código es un número único para tener una identificación no ambigua e inequívoca de cualquier objeto , especialmente aquellos que requieren ser transportados a lo largo de la red de valor.
Dentro de un circuito integrado denominadoTAG,se almacena este número único y los TAGs se pueden leer a través de sistemas de radiofrecuencia RFID (en español Identificación por Radiofrecuencia y en inglés Radio Frequency Identification)
Dentro de este código electrónico se puede almacenar una gran cantidad de información incluso mayor a la que se almacena en un código de barras como por ejemplo fecha de fabricación, lugar de fabricación, fecha de vencimiento,longitud, grosor, etc.
En este curso de administración de empresas conocerás cómo latrazabilidad y visibilidadde los productos, especialmente los de mayor volumen, sea mucho más precisa y eficiente. El EPC es un lenguaje global bajo el Estándar GS1 esenciales para comunicación efectiva de la información del producto en la cadena de suministro.
