El curso proporcionará, desde cero, herramientas teóricas y técnicas para emplear la fotografía como documento que forma parte de la investigación en las ciencias sociales, artes y las humanidades. No obstante, el campo es mucho más amplio en cuanto desarrollan capacidades interpretativas y creativas de la fotografía. Es así como se considera que el curso une un desenvolvimiento en torno la semiótica, la técnica, la teoría y el uso de la fotografía con fines documentales.

Al terminar el curso, los estudiantes aprenderán el concepto de fotografía documental, conocerán la formar de sacar provecho a la cámara y lograrán dar sentido a la fotografía como documento reflejado en la creación de un proyecto de fotografía documental, a través de actividades prácticas y videos con expertos en el campo, con el propósito de enriquecer su forma de interpretar el mundo a través de la fotografía.
