Física Experimental (IST)

Curso que assenta na construção de experiências a partir de material corrente e na utilização do e-lab (laboratório acessível remotamente). Neste curso os participantes irão adquirir conhecimentos de análise de dados e tratamentos dos erros experimentais associados, bem como técnicas numéricas de ajuste de funções aos modelos teóricos que descrevem as experiências propostas.

Será dada ênfase a este último tópico e em particular serão utilizadas experiências que exemplifiquem casos sucessivamente mais complexos de ajustes numéricos de funções. No entanto, será preterido um formalismo matemático em prol do uso de técnicas computacionais disponíveis em folhas de cálculo, como o MSExcel ou on-line como o Fitteia. Em particular pretende-se que o participante desenvolva competências de análise de dados experimentais e definição de critérios para a aceitação do modelo teórico proposto.

Neste curso usaremos experiências básicas mas que refletem a riqueza da física e química:

  • Pêndulo simples e física do globo

Pré-requisitos
Este curso é indicado para uma introdução a técnicas laboratoriais, em particular à física e química. Nesse sentido, o conhecimento de termos e conceitos básicos destas áreas é uma mais valia.
O requisito principal será o conhecimento matemático de funções e suas derivadas.
Material necessário:
Para realizar o curso é necessário dispor de um computador com acesso à Internet, com a instalação previa de:

  • plataforma Java
  • MSExcel ou outra folha de calculo
  • VLC ou outro visualizador de vídeo

Sendo este curso de índole experimental também será necessário preparar, previamente ao início do curso, um conjunto de materiais simples, listados de seguida:
Pêndulo simples

  • Bola saltitante ou outra massa equivalente;
  • Cordel fino de 2m e um clip de ferro;
  • Régua/fita métrica;
  • Cronómetro;
  • Batente/limitador de curso.
