Urs Jäger

Urs Jäger is associate professor at INCAE Business School. He focuses his work on General Management and Strategic Change in emerging countries with a special emphasis on including formal and informal markets, creating management concepts based on process philosophy to generate sustainable economic and social impact. He also serves as academic director of VIVA Idea, where he develops new teaching methods to create and disseminate knowledge on sustainable strategies and social entrepreneurship. He connects sustainability experts and entrepreneurs to develop and implement business plans.
His research focuses on innovative business strategies that include formal and informal markets, and the base of the pyramid. Along with his team, he has developed ethnographic studies in Europe, Indonesia and more than 10 Latin American countries.
He has worked as a business consultant for more than 15 years and as a professor in masters' degrees and executive education for more than 12 years.
He has published 7 books, 20 teaching cases and several articles in well recognized journals.
