Marie-Luise Beck

Since 2012 Marie-Luise Beck is the Managing director of the DKK. Before that, she worked at the Freien Universität in Berlin on the research project „Forschungsforum Öffentliche Sicherheit“ for three years. She was responsible for organizing communication between policy makers and scientists and politicians at concerning Issues of public safety issuesand security, such as disaster management of natural hazards. As one of the publishers of the series „Sicherheit 2025“(2012), she focused on systemic risks caused by on digital networking and extreme weather extremes.
From 2000 to 2009 she was research assistant and office manager for to different delegates members of Parliament atof the German Bundestag. There, she In 2007 she enabled managed the launch of the initiative by Parliament “Zukunftsforum Öffentliche Sicherheit”, a now registered to register as association, which regularly meets at the German Bundestag. She is a member of the management board of this association and co-author of the Green paper on „Risiken und Herausforderungen für die Öffentliche Sicherheit in Deutschland.“ She graduated from Biology, German Literature and Pedagogics at the Philipps University, Marburg, with a Staatsexamen (equivalent to MA).
