Antonio Romiti, laureato in Giurisprudenza (Università di Pisa) con tesi in Storia del Diritto Italiano (prof. Antonio Marongiu), nel 1967 à entrato nel Ruolo Direttivo dell'Amministrazione Archivistica Statale prendendo servizio presso l'Archivio di Stato in Lucca (fino al 30 ottobre 1986).
