Os antigos egípcios usavam os dados do censo para aumentar a eficiência da cobrança de impostos e previam com precisão a cheia do Nilo todos os anos. Desde então, as pessoas que trabalham com a ciência de dados vêm desenvolvendo uma área de atuação distinta e específica. Essa área é a ciência de dados. Neste curso, conheceremos alguns profissionais da ciência de dados e apresentaremos uma visão geral da ciência de dados na atualidade.

WEEK 1
Definição da Ciência de Dados e do trabalho dos cientistas
Neste módulo, você verá o programa do curso, com os assuntos que serão ensinados. Você ouvirá profissionais da ciência de dados descrevendo o que é essa ciência, o que os cientistas de dados fazem e quais ferramentas e algoritmos eles usam no dia a dia. Por fim, você executará uma tarefa de leitura para descobrir por que a ciência de dados é considerada o trabalho mais badalado do século XXI.

WEEK 2
Tópicos da ciência de dados
Neste módulo, você ouvirá Norman White, diretor do corpo docente do Stern Centre for Research Computing da Universidade de Nova York, discorrendo sobre a ciência de dados e as habilidades necessárias para qualquer pessoa que queira trabalhar nessa área. Além disso, ele faz recomendações para quem deseja iniciar uma carreira na ciência de dados. Para terminar, você realizará tarefas de leitura para aprender sobre o processo de mineração de um determinado conjunto de dados e a análise de regressão.

WEEK 3
Ciência de dados nos negócios
Neste módulo, você aprenderá sobre as abordagens que as empresas podem adotar para começar a trabalhar com ciência de dados. Você saberá mais sobre algumas das qualidades que diferenciam os cientistas de dados de outros profissionais. Você também aprenderá sobre análise, habilidade de contar histórias e o papel fundamental dos cientistas de dados na criação de uma entrega final eficaz. Para terminar, você aplicará o que aprendeu sobre ciência de dados respondendo perguntas abertas.
