Through the study of Angela Duckworth's and Claire Robertson-Kraft's article "True Grit" along with viewing interviews with researchers and practitioners, students will learn how apply research methods to their study of Positive Psychology. Students will learn how to develop a research hypothesis and how to understand the difference between internal and external validity.

Students will plan how to incorporate resilience interventions into their personal and professional lives and will be exposed to the foundational research in resilience, including risk and protective factors. Several types of resilience interventions will be explored including cognitive strategies, strategies to increase positive emotions such as gratitude and awe and various relationship enhancement skills.
