Administración financiera y su función en la empresa (Coursera)

Las finanzas corporativas son importantes en cualquier organización pues nos dan a conocer las necesidades de inversión y financiamiento de cualquier ente económico. Son indispensables para que el administrador financiero tome decisiones correctas en las áreas de operación, inversión y financiamiento para tal efecto, requiere de una serie de herramientas que le permitan planear, monitorear y controlar los recursos monetarios de una organización.

A lo largo de este curso el administrador financiero obtendrá herramientas que le permitan analizar los estados financieros básicos, medir el desempeño de una organización, presupuestar los bienes de capital, estructurar el capital y establecer la política de dividendos así como valuar empresas a través de diferentes métodos.
En todo momento el administrador financiero, ya sea principiante o experto deberá tener en cuenta el dilema que surge de la teoría de la agencia, es por eso que en este curso se presenta la contrapropuesta del también llamado modelo Anglosajón o financiero es decir es decir el modelo Stakeholder o modelo de los interesados. Con esta óptica en mente, el administrador financiero tendrá un punto de vista adicional al tradicional paradigma de maximización de valor de los accionistas.

Syllabus

WEEK 1
Administración Financiera y su Función en la Empresa
En el curso Administración Financiera y su Función en la Empresa, además de definir las finanzas, estudiaremos el dilema que enfrenta el administrador financiero en la teoría de agencia. También delimitaremos quiénes son los usuarios de la información financiera, los estados financieros básicos y las herramientas más comunes para su análisis e interpretación.

Administración Financiera y Teoría de Agencia
En este módulo se definen las finanzas, así como el ámbito de actuación del administrador financiero. Adicionalmente, se identifican las causas que surgen del dilema de la teoría de agencia que dan como resultado la premisa financiera de ’’maximización del valor de los accionistas’’ y de forma colateral se describe el modelo alternativo de los interesados en la organización o Stakeholder.

WEEK 2
La Información Financiera
En este módulo se aborda la información financiera, su necesidad e importancia para la toma de decisiones, los usuarios de la información financiera, los estados financieros
básicos y la interrelación que existe entre ellos.

WEEK 3
Medidas de Desempeño
En este módulo profundizaremos en los estados financieros básicos, los conceptos fundamentales de la información que brindan y los rubros que los componen para
posteriormente poder analizarlos con el método de razones financieras en rubros como liquidez, apalancamiento, eficiencia, rentabilidad y razones de bolsa.

WEEK 4
Gestión de Desempeño
En este módulo se presentan diversas herramientas que sirven para medir el desempeño financiero no únicamente de la empresa, sino del administrador financiero y que inciden directamente en la rentabilidad, como el método Dupont. Adicionalmente se presentan herramientas como el punto de equilibrio operativo y el presupuesto como herramientas de planeación y control financiero
