In-Memory Data Management (内存数据库管理) (openHPI)

In-Memory Data Management (内存数据库管理) (openHPI)

The online course focuses on the management of enterprise data in column-oriented in-memory databases. Latest hardware and software trends led to the development of a new revolutionary technology that enables flexible and lightning-fast analysis of massive amounts of enterprise data.

The basic concepts and design principles of this technology are explained in detail. Beyond that, the implications of the underlying design principles for future enterprise applications and their development are discussed. Unbelievable things are possible and you will understand why this is true using an in-memory column-oriented database instead of a traditional row-oriented disk-based one.
A brief overview of the course content:

  • The future of enterprise computing
  • Basic and advanced database storage techniques
  • In-memory database operators
  • A new enterprise application development era

The Data Science of Health Informatics (Coursera)

Health data are notable for how many types there are, how complex they are, and how serious it is to get them straight. These data are used for treatment of the patient from whom they derive, but also for other uses. Examples of such secondary use of health data include population health (e.g., who requires more attention), research (e.g., which drug is more effective in practice), quality (e.g., is the institution meeting benchmarks), and translational research (e.g., are new technologies being applied appropriately).

Quantum Machine Learning (with IBM Quantum Research) (openHPI)

Whether we stream our favorite series, develop new drugs or have us being chauffeured by a self-driving car -- machine learning is an essential part of our modern life, and of our future. But the growing amount of data and our increasing demands pose difficulties for today's classical computers. Can quantum computing overcome these challenges? What potentials does the emerging field of quantum machine learning have? In this course, we will not only learn about quantum machine learning and its prospects, but we will also solve concrete tasks with both classical and quantum models.
