3 Minute Portuguese - Free taster (Skillshare)

Build a solid foundation in the Portuguese language and start to communicate your thoughts and opinions. Hello and welcome to “3 Minute Portuguese” The aim of this course is to make Portuguese accessible to anybody regardless of age, educational background or "aptitude" for learning. My method for teaching Portuguese is simple but effective. It works for anybody, no matter what your requirements.

I have been teaching foreign languages for over ten years and I’ve taught a wide range of students of all ages and backgrounds, including students with learning difficulties, so I know my method is accessible to absolutely anyone, with no exception.
With this course, it’s almost as if you have your very own language tutor at your beck and call. Take it with you wherever you are and have a quick listen to one of the lessons whenever you find yourself with three minutes to spare. You will be amazed at how much your language skills will develop after just a few minutes a day of study. You will start to learn the Portuguese language in a simple, logical and fun way.
You will learn a variety of words that you will learn to put together to form sentences that will be useful in any visit to Portugal or any Portuguese speaking country, and you'll learn how to put the words together to form sentences, saying exactly what you want.
There is ample opportunity throughout the course to practise what you've learnt, and structured repetition ensures you'll never forget what you've learnt.
As I said, it's a good idea to start building your own "repertoire" of things to say whilst you're in Portugal (or any other Portuguese-speaking country). If you build this up before you go, you will be more confident in speaking when you're abroad.
I'd love to see you write ten things you're going to say next time you travel to a Portuguese-speaking country. Use what you've learnt in this course and post your sentences in the Class Project section. If you want, you can just type them, but even better would be to write them on a cue card and take a picture to upload to show me and other learners.
If you write your sentences in Portuguese on one side of the cue card and then in English on the other side, you can take this with you to Portugal and have it in your back pocket for easy reference.
Here are a couple of simple sentences to get you going:
É absolutamente delicioso mas não é muito bom para mim
Para mim, é lindo aqui
Keep your sentences short and concise, so that you will remember them easily.
Happy learning :-)

Being able to adeptly use adjective clauses in speaking and writing is useful for upper level English learners. Adjectives and adjective clauses are very common in English, so students need to be able to understand them when they see them or hear them. Students often struggle to bring complexity to their speaking and writing and adjective clauses can be a great way to do this.
