Ricardo Codinhoto

Dr Ricardo Codinhoto is an architect qualified in Brazil with practical, teaching and research experience. Ricardo studied at the State University of Londrina (BSc Architecture and Urban Planning), the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (MSc Civil Engineering) and the University of Salford (PhD Design Science) where he also worked as an academic. Ricardo joined the University of Bath's Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering in 2015.
Ricardo holds a Senior Lecturer position within the University of Bath and he is the Director of Studies for the MSc Modern Building Design. He undertakes teaching and supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Ricardo’s current research interests include Building Information Modelling (BIM) applied to Design, Construction and Facilities Management, the design of healthcare facilities particularly focused on evidence-based design for wellbeing and environments for older people. He is also active in a number of research initiatives related to Design Theory, Lean Construction, Building Information Modelling Implementation and Healthcare Facilities Design, Construction and Maintenance and Project Management.
