Patricia Marshall

Patricia is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialed Diabetes Educator who has worked in diabetes education for nearly forty years. She has extensive experience educating people with diabetes, both in groups and individually.
Patricia has worked in community health centres and hospitals around Australia, including Queanbeyan (NSW), Katherine (NT), the Pilbara (WA), Perth (WA) and the Solomon Islands where she has trained aboriginal and bicultural health workers in diabetes management.
She has worked in health promotion, studied Herbal Medicine and designed and taught courses in nutrition to Naturopathy students and child care workers. In addition, she has developed and delivered a nutrition program to refugee children in an Islamic college.
In 2001 Patricia helped to develop a distance education Graduate Certificate course for diabetes educators at Curtin University, then taught the course while completing a Graduate Diploma in Health Education. Later she returned to Curtin University to coordinate the Graduate Certificate in Diabetes. She is a former national president of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association.
Patricia currently teaches in the Food, Nutrition and Health program at Curtin University.
