Dr. Boger’s design and delivery of this course is undergirded by more than 50 years of education, experience and adventures as a Hospitality/Tourism (H/T) professional. These begin with dishwashing at Hawaiian Village Restaurant (Tampa, FL) and include General Manager of the Kingston Jamaica Mountain Resort Hotel/Jamaica Hotel School - Casa Monte; Board Vice President, Daytona Beach, FL Convention & Visitors Bureau; Senior Lecturer in H/T Marketing University of the West Indies, Nassau Bahamas; Walt Disney HTM Professor at Bethune-Cookman College Daytona Beach FL; Secret Shopper “Grand Tours “ Europe; Consultant: HTM Education Ghana, West Africa; and International Programs Coordinator U South Carolina/Dept. of HTM. He has led guided tours & cruises across the USA, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Africa. Along the way Dr. Boger has been recognized with numerous achievement awards, to include the pinnacle lifetime achievement H.B. Meek award from The International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (ICHRIE), Lamp of Knowledge from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and Pioneer Award, National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP. A founding Board Member of the Multicultural Food service and Hospitality Alliance (MFHA), he has served on the Boards of the National Restaurant Association (NRA), American Hotel and Lodging Association, Maryland Tourism Coalition, American Culinary Federation (ACF)- Bahamas Chapter, and ICHRIE. Dr. Boger has provided consulting for a wide variety of leading Hospitality/Tourism industry leaders to include Sandals Caribbean resorts, Golden Beach Hotels, Ltd Ghana, Aramark and Sodexo international, Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), Air Jamaica, Air Afrique , Carol Glass Travel-Columbia S.C. , Bubba Gump’s and Hooters Restaurants. He has published over 100 scholarly journal, textbook and popular print articles. Dr. Boger’s holds Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees from The University of South Florida, University of North Texas and Revans International University (UK) respectively. He is a certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) Emeritus (AHLEI), a Certified Foodservice and ServeSafe Manager (NRA) and Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE). He is also a Vietnam era Commissioned Officer (Army, Infantry) and a Paul Harris Fellow Rotarian.
