In part one of this three part series, I'll take you through the steps of designing your cartoon character from ideation to final sketch. I break down the most essential concepts in creating a likable and believable cartoon character for your cartoon, animation, or comic project.

In Part 1 of the Shorty-Shorts Series, you will create a cartoon character sketch!

You will have three deliverables for this class:

1. Your Cartoon Influences

2. Your Know Thy Character Outline

3. Your Final Sketch with Application of Shape Language

You will need the following materials:

1. Drawing Tablet and Software or Pencil and Markers if using Traditional Media

2. A way to Upload Images

3. Creativity

4. 15 minutes or less
