Los pintores durante este periodo estaban preocupados por ideas tales como la búsqueda de la belleza, los placeres y dolores asociados al amor, la demostración de poder y estatus, o la relación de hombres y mujeres con la divinidad y la naturaleza. SEMANA 1. El Renacimiento: Fra Angelico, Sandro Boticcelli, Andrea Mantegna, el siglo XV en los Países Bajos, Jan Van Eyck.
SEMANA 2. El Renacimiento: Rogier van der Weyden. El Bosco, Patinir, Pieter Bruegel el Viejo. Leonardo da Vinci, Miguel Ángel.
SEMANA 3. El Alto Renacimiento: Rafael, Durero, Tiziano, El Greco, la pintura del siglo XVII, Caravaggio.
SEMANA 4. La pintura del siglo XVII: Jusepe de Ribera, Mattia Preti, Guido Reni, Poussin, Rubens, Van Dyck, Velázquez.
SEMANA 5. La pintura del siglo XVII: Francisco de Zurbarán, las naturalezas muertas, Frans Hals, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Gerard ter Borch, Pieter de Hooch.
SEMANA 6. El siglo XVIII: Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, Watteau, Boucher, William Hogarth, Jacques Louis David, Francisco de Goya.
SEMANA 7. Otros temas: mujeres pintoras, los mecenas, el pintor en su taller, el mercado del arte, la historia de la Historia del arte.
