Explore Your Creativity through Spontaneous Compositions (Skillshare)
If you are looking to refresh your creative thinking, get inspired and loosen up that artist’s block, this class is for you! As a graphic designer and artist, I have used spontaneous compositions as a fun practice for loosening up the mind and also finding creative ways to use these compositions for making unique and expressive artwork and projects.

This exercise is a true gem for a real explorer! You will start creating without any specific goal, experience the freedom by trusting the impulse, and have fun with creative thinking and turning the composition into artwork.

In this class you will:

- learn the basics of spontaneous composition

- loosen up your mind and break through that creative block

- explore your creativity

- sharpen your creative thinking

- create a very unique artwork

You will see how creative your mind really is! This class is a wonderful tool for any creative to bring refreshment and a new artistic spark into their routine.

The class project is to create a series of spontaneous compositions (minimum 10). Spend no more than 30 seconds per composition. Next, you will sharpen your creative thinking by examining each composition and finding surprising elements or meaning in your favourite ones. Finally, you will finish one or more selected compositions by adding other artistic elements and turning them into your unique artwork.

For compositions: use whatever ink or liquid watercolour you have available, together with paper suitable for wet artwork.

For further work on compositions: use anything that feels like your cup of tea: pencils, markers, ink pens, collage supplies; a scanner and computer to continue working digitally, etc.

I recommend:

- thick paper A4 (letter size) or larger

- black ink or watercolour (just to keep things simple). You can always add colors in the last phase when adding your artistic touch to compositions.

Protection (yes, this class gets messy)

- Cover your work surface (especially when working with ink)

- Protect yourself from ink splashes

You are the most welcome to share your before* and after* work! I encourage everyone to look at others’ compositions and to share ideas and associations. You can upload your work to the "Your Project" section.

* Before: your favourite composition(s) that you have chosen from the created series.

* After: finalised composition work with your added artistic elements.

I'm so excited to see what you come up with and what you create!
