Frank Piller

Frank Piller, Professor of Business Economics and Innovation Management at RWTH Aachen University, where he also directs the Executive MBA program as Director of Studies at RWTH. Prior to his appointment at the RWTH between 2004 and 2007 he worked at the MIT Sloan School of Management at MIT, USA. He earned his doctorate at the University of Würzburg and qualified on Open Innovation at the Technical University of Munich. Often quoted in the business press to Frank Piller as one of the leading German experts on innovation management and customer-centric value creation. The reference to the practice he holds as a partner of management consulting and advisory Competivation, advisor or coach of many large companies.

For his teaching, he has received several awards. The MBA students of the Technical University of Munich chose him as the "Teacher of the Year". At RWTH Aachen he received the prize of the Rector for teaching excellence in 2010. There he was awarded the Excellence Initiative in 2012 for his innovative 'Fliiping the Classroom "teaching concept.
