Level up your drawing with perspective and edges (Skillshare)
Level up your drawing with perspective and edges class is a third in a series of classes dedicated to overall improvement of your drawing skills. In this class we'll use perspective and edges to improve on your visual communication and graphic design in general. This will benefit both your illustration work as well as your drawing. All this will be accompanied with drawing exercises that are intended to elaborate on our talk in a more meaningful way.

Visual arts are a complex subject and at the core of it all are sketching and drawing. To make it easier for you to go through this subject I divided my lessons into smaller, more digestible classes like this one. So enjoy and push your creativity to the next level.

Whether I make drawings for clients, or for personal projects I always try to make my work efficient and the final result a great looking drawing. How do I do it? With lots and lots of practice. This time we'll practice perspective and edges.

In this class, you'll go behind-the-scenes as I share my process of drawing. I’ll provide you with helpful tips for better understanding of shapes, lines and how to overcome your drawing challenges. All for one purpose – to get better at your craft of line making.

With help from this class you should be able to level up your drawing process and from there make art that your friends and family would love to see on their walls.

Here are some of the steps that you’ll go through in this class:

- Gather up your drawing materials. Set up your workplace and start working.

- Make simple exercises to master perspective and get better understanding of edges in a drawing.

- Learn new things or recapitalize your knowledge about line control and how to use it in your drawing.

- Tackle main drawing challenges about linear perspective.

- See how to simplify edges and use them as a base for your drawing.

- Have better edge control with four types of edges.

- Use simple lines to create the right perspective for your drawings...

- Have fun drawing and make illustration work that you'll be proud of. :)

Start making drawings with confidence of a professional draughtsman.

For the class project students will create drawings based on the video lessons, two exercises with at least 8 drawings in total. Goal is to relax your art and get into a right drawing zone.

Each exercise is a continuation of the previous one and we'll have new exercises in the next classes in this series that will use exercises from this class as a base. I hope you'll like what I prepared

This class is aimed at intermediate level students with basic knowledge of drawing but anyone who likes to brush up on their knowledge of drawing can watch this class. Who knows, even those advanced students might learn something interesting, see another approach to drawing, try something different.

Project Description

Now it’s time for your project:

1. Finish watching the course.

2. Make exercises that are showed in the videos. Post them in the project gallery and I’ll leave a comment as soon as I can. The more you do the better you’ll get at drawing and sketching that will in turn benefit your illustration and graphic design work.

3. Expand from there, keep on drawing applying stuff that you learned in this class, ask for feedback...

4. Practice, practice, practice.

I would love to see what you came up with and help if you run into any kind of problem.

Here are the deliverables to share in the project gallery for feedback:

1. Drawing exercise

2. Work in progress images

3. Finished drawing

You don’t have to scan the finished sketching, you can also take a picture with your phone and upload it. If you are scanning it, remember to do it at 300 dpi so you can use it for bigger things later on.
