Robert A. Russell

Robert Russell is a Canadian who served in senior roles in several departments, over 32 years. The last nine years were as an assistant commissioner at the Canada Revenue Agency. Following his retirement from the Canadian public service, he joined the New Zealand Department of Inland Revenue, as Deputy Commissioner, Service Delivery. A few months later he was appointed Commissioner and Chief Executive, a position he held for over five years. Since his return to Canada, he has completed over 25 tax administration contracts for the International Monetary Fund, in 12 countries. Robert and Laurel have been married for 45 years. They have 4 sons and 8 grandchildren.
