Ralf Krestel

Dr. Ralf Krestel is a senior researcher and head of the Web Science Group at Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam. His research centers around text mining, information retrieval, natural language processing, and the World Wide Web. He studied computer science at University of Karlsruhe and Concordia University in Montreal. In 2012, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Hannover for his work "On the Use of Language Models and Topic Models in the Web". Afterwards he spent two years as a postdoctoral research fellow at University of California, Irvine. He published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and is reviewer for various journals and conferences.
