Michiel Schuurman

Michiel is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft and is lecturer in the Forensic Engineering Masters course. As a former senior Air Safety Investigator working for the Dutch Safety Board, he has over 10 years‘ experience of aircraft accident investigation. During that time he was involved in the investigation of various major commercial and general aviation accidents in the Netherlands and around the world. This knowledge and experience is shared in the Forensic Engineering MOOC and the professional education course ‘Air Safety Investigation’.
At TU Delft he conducts research into accident investigation methodology and safety related matters including drones. He is one of the founders of “TU Delft Forensics” community for Forensic Engineering and Engineering for Forensics.
