Michael Shimer

Mr. Shimer is an experienced Army leader, training manager, instructional designer and Florida-certified educator who’s passionate about teaching and mentoring learners with a diverse background in a blended learning environment. Michael believes in leveraging technology in both the online and face-to-face classroom as an essential component of learning. He has experience in developing training programs and teaching government, civilian, and academic learners. His research interests include designing and developing eLearning and in-person courses, technical training, and professional development for government and the commercial aerospace industry, public and private K-12 learning, and higher education. Michael completed an edX MicroMasters certificate program in Instructional Design and Technology (2018) and a Master of Science degree in learning design and technology from the University of Maryland University College with a 4.0 GPA (2019).
