Ebrahim Patel

Ebrahim, better known as “Ebi", has a deep rooted passion for endodontic therapy and has dedicated himself to endodontic teaching and practice. Ebrahim obtained his BDS degree and later completed an MScDent in Endodontics (cum laude) at Wits University, South Africa. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Endodontics.
Ebrahim has received numerous awards including the Hugo Retief Award (IADR SA), the South African Dental Association Leadership Medal, African Oxygen Bronze Medal, Sid Setzer-Millners Paedodontic Prize, Public Oral Health Prize and Golden key award for academic excellence. He is currently the Head of Preclinical Teaching in Operative Dentistry and Endodontics and is the programme director for the first year of the BDS degree at the School of Oral Health Sciences (Wits University). He actively teaches and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as public and private dentists in the science of endodontics. Ebrahim aspires to drive endodontic practice at the very best international standards by offering educational opportunities through several learning platforms.
