Damodaran A
Professor A. Damodaran is a Professor of Economics and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore & MHRD Chair Professor on Intellectual Property Rights. His research areas cover Environmental Economics and Financing, Cultural Economics, IPR Economics, Institutional Dimensions of Global Public Goods and Global Environmental Resources and Commodity Trade. Apart from his publications on IPRs, he has provided advisory services for the World Intellectual Property Organization on Technology Transfer and IPRs as part of WIPO's Development Agenda. He has worked on IPR issues connected with technology transfer of carbon capture technologies for the Asian Development Banks in connection with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and on Climate Friendly Agriculture for the World Bank. He is currently the Chairperson of the Technical Advisory Committee for UNDP assisted BIOFIN-GOI Project and a member of the Global High Level Panel set up by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) of the United Nations to assess financial requirements for implementing the Aichi Biodiversity Targets. He has also been a member of the International Panel of Experts that looked at the Global Environmental Facility’s seventh replenishment effort in relation to biological diversity. In these capacities he has delved into the interconnections between financing of global commons and IPRs.
