Carlos Pardo

Carlos works in the design and implementation of pilots for NUMO, the New Urban Mobility alliance. Before joining NUMO, Carlos worked on almost every continent, from Thimphu in Bhutan to Kampala in Uganda, as well as Bogotá, San Francisco, Bangkok and 40+ other cities. His work has included directing more than 20 projects, spanning the development of a bicycle strategy for cities to the assessment of value capture mechanisms for mass transit and reviewing travel demand management policies in 12 Latin American cities. He has also written 30+ articles and books, and planned and executed 100+ capacity-building activities.
He is a Colombian psychologist with a MSc in Contemporary Urbanism from the London School of Economics. He has worked for development banks, UN agencies and institutions. He founded Despacio.org in 2008, and was its Executive Director until he joined NUMO in 2018. He is the proud recipient of the Cycling Embassy of Denmark’s 2018 Leadership Award.
