Becky Ellis

Becky is a Social Scientist who has worked in education for more than 20 years, applying a philosophy of user-centricity and understanding user needs to a career spanning both higher education and K12 school contexts. Becky has a PhD in Human Geography and post-PhD worked for BT Research/ University of Essex in diverse areas of ICT and socio-technical research. She is best known for her research on e-commerce and eBay which led to media appearances on BBC London News, BBC Look East, the BBC World Service plus a book chapter in ‘Everyday eBay,’ the first scholarly analysis of the internet marketplace. Becky was one of the first in her field to examine the disruptive effects of the Internet on collecting and consumption practices, and more widely on delivery infrastructures and self employment. She now works for Arm Education as their User Research and Certification manager, supporting the co-creation of educational content.
