Mike Hughes

Mike is a Director of Prism RA, providing technology and cyber governance, risk, compliance, and security advisory and assurance services, in order to help organisations get the most out of their technology investment, improve the quality of the data they use for decision making, and improve their resilience in the event of a Cyber Attack.
With many years experience, including 8 years experience in mainstream IT and more than 20 years with KPMG, Mike possesses a wide range of GRC experience and a proven track record of helping organisations deliver business value from their use of IT. Mike holds a number of certifications, including CISM and CRISC.
Mike is extensively involved with ISACA, the global membership association for technology and cyber governance, risk, security professionals, playing leadership roles both at the local and international levels, including a term on ISACA’s International Board of Directors. Mike has also been part of the development team for a number of ISACA publications, including COBIT and GDPR and currently sits on ISACA Global’s Technology & Information Risk Advisory Board. Mike is also currently leading ISACA’s activities with the Cyber Security Alliance, a group of the UK’s cyber security related bodies, who are currently working on the UK’s Cyber Security Council establishment project, on behalf of the UK’s Government.
Mike is also heavily involved with training, he lectures on the exam preparation courses for ISACA’s four core certifications: CISM, CRISC, CISA & CGEIT. Mike has also presented a number of webinars for the ACCA, on Demystifying IT Audit and GDPR. Mike has also spoken at a number of conferences on managing the cyber risk.
In addition, Mike is a Non-Executive Director of CyberQ Group, an innovative and award winning cyber security services provider and he is also a member of the Cyber Advisory Board for Cranfield and Aston Universities and is a member of the UK's Institute of Directors (MIoD).
