Anna Conway

Anna Conway is the Director of the Teaching and Learning Center at Des Moines Area Community College. She holds a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Iowa. Anna’s teaching interests include adjunct faculty in higher education, adoption of inclusive pedagogy for community college faculty, and teaching and learning in community colleges. Anna leads many faculty development initiatives and creates collaborations among various curricular programs that support effective teaching and learning through a variety of instructional modalities. Anna has developed and facilitated special programs focusing on adjunct professional development, inclusive teaching and learning practices, and online teaching portfolios for college faculty. In 2013 Anna started the first state-wide conference for teaching and learning that has since become an annual event. Anna has participated in national research initiatives including a multi-institutional NSF-IUSE grant focusing on creating an online course for inclusive teaching in STEM fields.
