Taneha Kuzniecow Bacchin

Taneha K. Bacchin is an architect, researcher and educator specialized in the field of Landscape Urbanism. She has been Assistant Professor in Urban Design and Research Program Leader and Coordinator of Education of the Delta Urbanism Interdisciplinary Research Program at the Department of Urbanism of the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment since 2016.
She holds a PhD (double degree) in Landscape Architecture and Water Science & Engineering from Delft University of Technology jointly with UNESCO-IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in which she focused on urban landscape infrastructure design in water sensitive cities.
Before starting her academic carrier, she worked for architecture and urban planning practices in Brazil, Italy and Denmark. Her research and projects focus on the relationship between landscape architecture and urban form, environment, infrastructure and territory. She has expertise in water (sensitive) design, planning, and engineering. Her current work deals with the changing nature of the territorial project, addressing spatial, political, and economic aspects of environmental risk, extreme weather and resource scarcity. As urban designer and researcher, she has been invited as lecturer and design critic at UNESCO-IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, Erasmus Intensive Delta Cities Program, University of São Paulo, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Luleå University of Technology, UC Berkeley, Dalhousie Canada, Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture.
