Over the last five years the main efforts were focused on studies in the field of tribological behavior of materials, structures and phases formed in deformation zones during friction stir welding and processing, structure formation in functionally graded materials obtained with additive arc and electron-beam methods, deformation mechanisms in single crystalline materials, stability of deformation and fracture during mechanical processing of materials and monitoring these regimes by means of acoustic emission, Doppler vibrometry and accelerometry.
