I am trained as a biochemist. During my PhD I studied role of chaperone Hsp90 in the life cycle and virulence of protozoan parasites. I investigated the evolution of Hsp90 complex and its function in primitive protozoa, primarily using parasites like Entamoeba, Trichomonas and Theileria as models. For my post-doc research, I transitioned to explore epigenetic gene regulation and inheritance in free-living nematode, C. elegans, in the lab of Dr. Germano Cecere at Institut Pasteur. I am currently investigating the biogenesis of endo-siRNAs and their role in gene regulation of C. elegans germline transcripts during development by integrating proteomic, biochemical, and high-throughput genomic approaches. I am further exploring how epigenetic information is transmitted from soma to germline.
