Manuel Morales

Manuel Morales is a professor at Université de Montréal working in the field of applied artificial intelligence in banking and investment with experience in creating business value through machine learning and AI. He is also an active member of the Montreal AI community who is involved in various collaborative initiatives linking technical data science teams with product owners and managers in order to create a coherent AI transformation strategy that includes robust governance structures for AI systems. He is currently taking on a role as Digital Strategy & Innovation Advisor at PSP Investments.
During his tenure as Chief AI Scientist at National Bank of Canada, he oversaw the scientific component of the AI transformation initiative of a twenty-billion-dollar banking institution. As a researcher affiliated at OBVIA, Manuel is also involved in the ongoing worldwide discussion around AI Ethics and the commitment to responsible AI deployments.
