Lui Tai Lok

Lui Tai Lok is a prolific writer and frequent commentator on global and local issues on urbanism and society. After obtaining his Ph.D. from Oxford University, he taught at Hong Kong City Polytechnic, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, and is currently Chair Professor in the Department of Asian and Policy Studies at the Hong Kong Institute of Education. He has widely researched and published in topics including class analysis, economic sociology, urban sociology, and Hong Kong society. Professor Lui is one of the most sought-after columnists in Hong Kong newspapers and occasionally a radio programme host. Professor Lui has served for more than ten years on committees related to local and international relief at the Hong Kong Red Cross. He is also Chairperson of SynergyNet, a local think tank.
