Professor Yiu received Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from King’s College, University of London, Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees from the University of Hong Kong. She is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in Dental Surgery (FHKAM) and a Fellow of the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong in the Specialty of Paediatric Dentistry (FCDSHK).
Prof Yiu has extensive teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her areas of research interests are paediatric oral health, cariology and adhesive dentistry, Prof Yiu has published over 210 papers in international scientific journals and several book chapters. Much of her work is aimed at the prevention of dental caries and the improvement of durability of resin-dentin bond.
