Charlene Koonin

I am a Professor of Reading at Broward College Florida. I graduated from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York, with a Master’s of Science in Education in 1981. I have dedicated my career to teaching students how to read actively and engage in the cognitive and logical thought processes that are encompassed in the reading experience.

Over the years, I have become very enthusiastic about helping students learn online. My Developmental Reading course is recognized by Quality Matters for Excellence in Online Course Design and to my knowledge, it is the only Developmental Reading course that has achieved this distinction.
