Anders Grauers

Anders Grauers is an Associate Professor in Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Systems at Chalmers University of Technology, and has a PhD in electric machines. Earlier Anders has worked at Volvo cars with development of active safety system and as a technical specialist on Autonomous Driving Support Systems. He is also active in the Swedish Electromobility Centre, which is a research network for Vehicle industries, Universities and Authorities. Anders is doing system research on electric and hybrid powertrains and how they are adapted to different vehicles and different type of charging infrastructure. He has worked with cars, trucks and buses and the research includes different powertrain types, control, cost-benefit analysis and optimization of complete power trains and their charging systems. He has received Chalmers University of Technology's annual Pedagogical Award for a course in Electric Power Engineering.

Hybrid Vehicles (edX)

Learn to design hybrid powertrains which meet the needs of modern vehicles, by combining the strengths of both electric motors and combustion engines. Why are hybrid vehicles still more common than battery electric ones? Why are electric vehicles still more expensive than conventional or hybrid ones? In this course, [...]

Electric and Conventional Vehicles (edX)

Learn how electric and conventional powertrains work and methods to analyse their performance and energy consumption. Electric powertrains are estimated to propel a large part of road vehicles in the future, due to their high efficiency and zero tailpipe emissions. But, the cost and weight of batteries and the [...]
