Victor Hugo Sánchez Espinoza

Victor Hugo is the head of the Group Rector Physics and Dynamics (RPD) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Project Leader Light Water Reactor Safety and Methods at KIT. He has a lectureship at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology on the topics of Reactor Safety: Fundamentals and Safety assessment of nuclear power plants. Victor Hugo is technical advisor of PhD, Master and Bachelor students for KIT and abroad.
Current working fields:
Multi-physics and multi-scale methodologies for the Design and Safety Assessment of innovative and LWR
Validation and improvement of numerical safety analysis tools (System and subchannel codes)
Development of subchannel and porous-media two-phase flow codes
Validation and application of severe accident (SA) and accident management (SAM)
Extension of coupled N/TH codes for direct prediction of safety parameters and for improved pin mechanics
