Shelley is currently the eLearning Facilitator at the Media Innovation Team, University College, University of South Florida. Shelley Stewart grew up in Tampa, Florida. She attended the University of South Florida where she graduated with a B.S. in biology. Shortly thereafter she returned to Leto High School, her alma mater, as a science teacher during which time she completed a master’s degree in library and information science. She then became the Media Specialist at Leto High School. After three years she returned to the University of South Florida to pursue a doctorate in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in instructional technology and educational measurement and research.

Princess stories have been popular for centuries and remain so today around the world; we’ll dive into what these fairy tales mean, and trace the history of these narratives back to their source material, examining contexts all along the way. We’ll borrow tools from cultural studies, literature studies, and film studies to help us analyze these phenomena and what they mean to our society.
