Satheesh Kumar
Satheesh Kumar received his B. Sc. degree in Mathematics from University of Kerala and M. Sc. degree in Mathematics from Annamalai University. He did his doctoral research at NIIST (formerly Regional Research Laboratory(CSIR)), Trivandrum on chaotic rheological parameters of periodically forced suspensions of weak Brownian slender bodies in simple shear flow and received his Ph. D. degree from Cochin Univ. of Science & Technology under faculty of technology. He joined St. John's College, Anchal as Lecturer and later moved to Melbourne, Australia for carrying out his post doctoral research at Department of Chemical Engineering, Monash University and then to South Korea as Post Doctoral Scientist at Department of Physics, POSTECH. He has published several research articles in reputed international journals such as Journal of Rheology, Macromolecules, J. Geophys. Res., Annales Geophysicae, Social Networks and Renewable Energy. He is a member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), American Physical Society, American Geophycal Union, International Society of Difference Equations. His research interest is varied and includes Modelling and Simulation in areas such as Suspension Rheology, Polymer Rheology and Dynamics, Bio-Physics, Geo-Physics (Geo-Magnetism and Space Physics), Chaotic Dynamics, Social Network Analysis and Wind modelling and Forecasting.
Currently he is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Futures Studies, University of Kerala where he also contributes to the administration and maintenance of High Performance Computing (HPC) and network facilities in the campus. With his research group he is currently working on developing accurate wind speed prediction models and computational tools for large scale social networks. He pursues his hobby in digital photography in his spare moments.
