Salla Atkins

Salla Atkins is a social scientist, with a background in psychological research and a PhD from Karolinska Institutet. She is currently a postdoctoral scientist at Karolinska Institutet, coordinating two EU funded projects on health research capacity building in Africa and Asia. She has considerable experience working in the South African public health sector, particularly in health systems and services research. She has expertise in qualitative research, and is interested in mixed methods research, combining qualitative and quantitative research, systematic reviews using mixed methods and qualitative methods and evidence-based policy. She has been a course leader for a course on qualitative evaluation methods at Karolinska Institutet, and leads a book chapter on qualitative process evaluations alongside randomized controlled trials due for publication in 2015. Salla’s role in the course is to organize and support course implementation.
