Ronald Cools

Ronald Cools (PhD in Engineering Sciences – Computer Science, 1989) is a full professor at KU Leuven in the Department of Computer Science. His main research interests are related to the numerical approximation of multivariate integrals, covering the whole spectrum from basic integration rules, adaptive methods and error estimates to software. He has (co)-authored more than 125 articles in international journals, conference proceedings and books, with more than 55 co-authors. From August 2010 until July 2018, he served as department chair. Since 2019 he is the research coordinator for the Science, Engineering & Technolgy Group of KU Leuven. Among the courses he teaches are courses on linear algebra, scientific software, deterministic and stochastic integration methods.
